Hi Lykkers! Mascara is one of those makeup products I can be surprisingly picky about. A pretty tube means nothing if the formula flakes, clumps, or leaves my lashes looking flat by lunchtime.

Over the years, I’ve tried plenty of drugstore mascaras, but three have managed to stay in my makeup rotation. What makes them special is that each one gives a completely different lash effect. One is all about length, another brings serious volume, and one gives me that soft, everyday finish I reach for constantly.

<h3>1. L’Oréal Telescopic — 5/5</h3>

This is easily my favorite of the three. Whenever I want my lashes to look long and defined, L’Oréal Telescopic is the one I grab without thinking twice. The brush does a fantastic job separating individual lashes, so I get a much cleaner finish instead of a heavy, spidery effect. Length is definitely its biggest strength. With a few careful coats, my lashes look dramatically longer, almost like I added extensions.

<h3>2. Essence Lash Princess — 3.5/5</h3>

For a mascara that usually costs less than $5, Essence Lash Princess is seriously impressive. It’s one of those affordable makeup finds that makes it easy to understand why so many people keep talking about it. The formula gives my lashes noticeable volume and thickness, which is great when I want something more dramatic. My only complaint is the brush. I have to be a little more careful during application because it can deposit quite a bit of product, making clumps easier to create.

<h3>3. L’Oréal Voluminous — 4/5</h3>

L’Oréal Voluminous has been sitting in my makeup bag for what feels like forever, and I’ve repurchased it more times than I can count. What keeps me coming back is how balanced the result feels. It adds both volume and length without making my lashes seem overly dramatic. I can wear it on a regular day, but it also works beautifully when I’m building a soft-glam makeup look. The finish feels fuller while still looking relatively natural, which is exactly why I reach for it when I don’t want my mascara to steal the entire show.

If I had to choose just one, L’Oréal Telescopic would win for me because I love that elongated, separated lash effect. Essence Lash Princess gets my vote for an affordable volume boost, while L’Oréal Voluminous remains my reliable everyday favorite. Sometimes the best beauty products aren’t the newest ones sitting on the shelf. They’re the ones I keep putting back in my cart because I already know they work for me.
