Lykkers, have you ever experienced the raw beauty of nature combined with a thrilling adventure? We recently ventured to Multnomah Falls in Oregon, and it was an unforgettable journey.

Nestled in the Columbia River Gorge, Multnomah Falls is not only a stunning natural landmark but also a perfect spot for outdoor enthusiasts and casual travelers alike.

Our trip began at the main viewpoint, where the sight of the 620-foot cascade was nothing short of breathtaking. The upper and lower falls, split by a picturesque bridge, created a scene straight out of a fantasy novel. We were lucky enough to visit during the spring, when the surrounding foliage was lush and vibrant. As we delved deeper into the area, the mist from the falls created a refreshing, cool breeze, making our hike even more enjoyable.

The Hike to the Top

We set off on the popular 1.2-mile round-trip trail to the top of the falls. The hike, though steep at times, offered spectacular views of the gorge and the river below. We recommend starting early in the day to avoid crowds and enjoy a more peaceful ascent. For those interested in a shorter trek, the lower viewing area is accessible via a paved path and provides excellent photo opportunities.

Visitor Information

Multnomah Falls is open year-round, with daily access from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The visitor center offers a range of services, including a gift shop and restrooms. As for ticket prices, parking is free, but the area can get quite busy, so arriving early is advisable to secure a good spot.

Hidden Gems

A hidden gem we discovered was the Benson Bridge, which arches over the lower falls. From this vantage point, the view of the water cascading below was even more impressive. We also took a moment to explore the historic Multnomah Falls Lodge, which serves up delicious meals and snacks. The lodge has been a part of the falls' history for over a century and adds a touch of historical charm to the visit.

Lykkers, if you’re planning a trip to Oregon, don’t miss out on Multnomah Falls. Whether you're drawn by the natural beauty or the chance to stretch your legs on a scenic hike, it's a destination that promises both adventure and tranquility.
